Marilyn Sachs wanted to get revenge. Thus, what better way to get revenge than to date her ex-boyfriend's uncle? Marilyn was an average Jane, or she could be, if not for the fact that her boyfriend had an affair with her cousin, and he was the reason for her father being left paralyzed in the hospital. So when Marilyn's best friend told her about her ex-boyfriend's uncle, she decided it would be an excellent idea to date him. Clifford Gibbs was a young, rich, and handsome man, albeit slightly cold toward others. Most importantly, he was the CEO of Gibbs Group's branch office, which was crucial for Marilyn's revenge. She wanted to expose her ex-boyfriend's wrongdoings in the company and could only do so with Clifford's help. Although Marilyn's original intention was only to date Clifford, she accepted his proposal for marriage without hesitation. After all, what could possibly go wrong? To start with, Marilyn was mistaken about Clifford's true identity. Not only was Clifford not her ex-boyfriend's uncle, but he was the CEO of Gibbs Group, whom she had always admired. And another important thing? Marilyn realized that she had fallen for him.
