Miaoxi is a highly skilled assassin and the wrongfully accused daughter of General Lu, whose entire family was wiped out. Seeking revenge, Miaoxi is sent into the palace to assassinate Emperor Pei Yun under the Empress Dowager's orders, but unexpectedly, their souls swap. In their attempts to switch back to their original bodies, they try various methods, but none succeed. Miaoxi discovers that the massacre of her family was orchestrated by the Empress Dowager, who once held power over the court. The Emperor is also investigating the case. Together, they begin to cooperate in uncovering the truth.
