Alessia DeLuca returns home after years abroad, widowed and pregnant, to attend her brother Enzo's engagement party. A misunderstanding occurs when Caroline, the bride-to-be's mother, mistakes Alessia for Enzo's mistress. Sophie, the bride, storms into Enzo's mansion and physically confronts Alessia. She drags Alessia to the engagement party, humiliating her in front of the guests. The situation escalates until Enzo arrives to reveal the truth.
