姐姐田秀娥嫌採珠人陳大海窮苦，與金鋪少東傢俬會後逃婚。孃家無力退還船契銀，哄騙腦子慢半拍的田小滿替姐上了採珠船。陳家發現被騙雖憤怒，卻只能暫時留下小滿。誰料小滿天生能聞海風、識潮水、尋珠蚌，屢次幫陳家避災獲寶。陳大海從嫌棄到護她入骨，婆婆也將她視若親女。而一心攀附富貴的姐姐，最終掉進騙子的發財夢，落得一場空。
