1985年的青石鎮，紡織廠好手沈知意蒙冤被逐、淨身出戶，連老家祖屋都被親戚霸占。一無所有的她，硬是憑著一台老縫紉機在廢棄店鋪安了家。從修補退伍軍人顧南生珍藏的舊軍裝開始，她的一雙巧手在時代浪潮裡剪出名堂，從路邊擺攤一路拚到自營服裝作坊。兩個帶著傷痕的靈魂在針線交錯間漸漸靠近，她靠自己的手藝把碎掉的日子重新縫好，堂堂正正活出屬於自己的底氣。
