Seraphina is forced to ghostwrite designs by her stepmother and half-sister, while her father plans to barter her for benefits. On the run, she meets Caius and intends to take advantage of his power to escape, unaware he is the boy she rescued in her youth. Caius sees her scheme but lets him rely on him, protecting her silently. They heal each other and fall deeply in love. Later, Seraphina exposes Sophia’s plagiarism and discovers her noble lineage.
