Jin Zhaozhao, the reincarnation of the Nine Heavens Goddess and the last heir of the Xuan Sect, is destined to live a life of poverty. Meanwhile, Fu Tingyuan, a wealthy heir with great power, is fated to face disaster and fears dying young. Therefore, if Jin Zhaozhao does not marry Fu Tingyuan, she will live in utter destitution. With no other choice, she takes the marriage contract and heads straight to the Fu family. On the other hand, Fu Tingyuan believes Jin Zhaozhao, dressed in rags with patches all over, is a money-seeking fraud. However, his grandfather forces him to marry her. Reluctantly, Fu Tingyuan agrees to the marriage, though his words are cold and ruthless.
