Clothilde Peltier aime secrètement Tristan Lafont depuis des années. Sous pression familiale, Tristan épouse Clothilde avec l'accord de divorcer au bout de trois ans, bien qu'il aime Garance Piché. Après un mariage froid et des blessures répétées, Clothilde rompt à l'échéance. Tristan découvre trop tard les manipulations de Garance, qui mènent son groupe à la faillite. Clothilde s'épanouit et trouve un nouvel amour, tandis que Tristan perd tout.
