Opening of the season — the setup and the first turn.
Shu Qing, the eldest daughter of the Shu family, hides her identity and enters the Huo household for a three-month trial marriage, planning to cancel the engagement arranged by their grandfathers. But as she spends time with Huo Yuncheng, she gradually falls for him. When he's injured and falls into a coma, she tearfully confesses her feelings and agrees to the engagement. However, under Tang Ruoying's manipulations, Shu Qing begins to doubt Huo's feelings and cancels the engagement, causing a rift between them. Realizing something's wrong, Huo Yuncheng pretends to be weak to win her back, and their relationship slowly mends. Later, due to Tang Ruoying's madness, Shu Qing falls off a cliff, regains memories from thirteen years ago, and is moved by Huo's desperate pursuit. In the end, she accepts his proposal and they end up together.
