Opening of the season — the setup and the first turn.
Three years ago, due to a frame-up in a construction accident involving the Ji Group, the couple committed suicide, leaving behind their two children. The older brother, Ji Hai, became a vegetative state, while the younger sister, Ji Ning, changed her name to Ji An'an to seek revenge. She approached Zhang Ying, the matriarch of the Qin family, who at that time needed an informant within the family to consolidate her position. Zhang Ying adopted Ji Anan and arranged for her to be engaged to her nephew, Qin Sheng. Thus, Ji Ning entered the Qin family and began her path of vengeance.
