Abigail is the daughter of a respected officer admired by Bryce. During a battle, Abigail's father is killed, and Bryce notices that something is wrong. Bryce comes to Abigail's father's funeral, and on that day, Abigail discovers her boyfriend's infidelity and gets dumped. At the same time, someone wants to kill Abigail at the funeral. Bryce rescues her but gets injured. Abigail treats Bryce, who insists she stay with him for safety, as someone is after her. Abigail holds a secret document from her father. Initially, Abigail dislikes Bryce due to his violent demeanor and refuses to live with him. She confronts her ex-boyfriend, and Bryce helps her punish that ex-boyfriend. They develop a mutual attraction, but Abigail, aware of her terminal illness, doesn't want to burden Bryce and rejects his advances. But the two were still attracted in their daily interactions and eventually broke through all difficulties to be together.
