Gu Qingyu and Xia Yanyu registered their marriage in Australia. Afterward, Xia Yanyu stayed in Australia while Gu Qingyu returned to China to take over the Gu family business. Two years later, Xia Yanyu came back to China and arranged to meet his wife, whom he had never met in person. However, when he dialed her number, he overheard some ambiguous sounds on the other end, which made him suspect that Qingyu was having an affair. As a result, he decided to file for divorce.
