As a child, Yue Linglong, the pampered daughter of the Yue family, was a chubby girl with a secret crush on Li Xingzhou, the academic star of her class. Grown up, she was deceived by her parents into marrying a stranger abroad. Determined to be close to Li Xingzhou, Yue Linglong applies for a job as his humble assistant. By chance, she is caught in a love potion's spell and shares an intimate night with him. When Li Xingzhou wakes up, the beautiful "Cinderella" is gone, and only Yue Linglong, dressed in her usual plain and timid attire, arrives to deliver documents. Mistaking her for a witness to the previous night's encounter, Li Xingzhou orders her to find that woman. Eventually, Li Xingzhou discovers that his "wife" is actually Yue Linglong, but she has already left, heartbroken. Li Xingzhou rushes to the airport to chase after her, and after a heartfelt declaration of love, they share a passionate kiss.
