The story takes place on the continent of Aures, a land ruled for centuries by the Holy Court. Aila Veylan is a lowly novice nun at Sylvia Abbey. Unable to awaken holy magic, she is treated as useless, bullied by her peers, and ignored by the clergy. Despite years of humiliation, Aila remains devout, believing that if she is faithful enough, the Holy Court will one day recognize her. During the annual magic awakening ceremony, Aila is declared a “magicless failure” and sentenced to exile. But at the moment of despair, a dormant dark power within her erupts, throwing the Holy Court into panic. A high-ranking priest later discovers the truth: Aila is not an ordinary nun, but the last direct descendant of the ancient Black Dragon royal bloodline. The faith she once trusted turns against her overnight. Branded as a first-class heretic, Aila is hunted across the continent by the very institution she once worshiped. During her escape, Aila encounters Karen Thorne, a feared dark knight whose family was destroyed by the Holy Court, and Laide Grey, a banished former court mage who has spent years uncovering forbidden truths. Through ancient dungeons, dragon murals, and fragmented memories, Aila learns that the dragons were never the evil monsters recorded in Holy Court history. They were the ancient guardians of the continent’s barrier. The Holy Court, driven by greed for magical power, launched a war against the dragons, slaughtered their race, stole their source magic, and rewrote history to portray themselves as divine saviors. As Aila’s faith collapses, she stops running from her destiny. With Karen, Laide, and Brienna at her side, she begins to expose the Holy Court’s lies: the sacrifice of civilians, the manipulation of belief, the persecution of dragon bloodlines, and the dark truth behind holy magic itself. The frightened, submissive nun gradually transforms into a powerful Black Dragon heir and a symbol of rebellion.
