Lin Zhentian, a prominent underworld boss in the metropolis, grows weary of a life of bloodshed and resolves to leave the criminal world to start a family with his young, beautiful fiancée, Li Wei. However, Li Wei has been secretly colluding with her old lover, Lu Ziming, plotting to poison Lin Zhentian on their wedding day to seize his massive fortune. Lin Zhentian discovers their affair by chance but remains composed, deciding to turn the tables by setting up elaborate traps. Li Wei, Lu Ziming, Li's mother, and Li Yong are subsequently arrested by the police on charges including fraud and attempted murder.
