Soon after, strange misfortunes hit the Zhuang family—chickens and ducks vanish, a fire breaks out, and his sister-in-law Yang Caidie behaves bizarrely. Superstitious relatives blame a vengeful spirit, but Zhuang Dayong uncovers the truth: Yang Caidie and Chen the Blind conspired to swindle the family using the “weasel’s curse” as a cover.
