One winter day, Mason and Sarah went together into the mountains to gather herbs. Under an old pine tree, they unexpectedly encountered a giant white moth they had never seen before — its wingspan was half a meter, and on its snow‑white wings was strikingly printed a ferocious skull‑like human face, with sunken eye sockets and a mouth twisted into a sinister arc. Trembling with fear, they shot and killed this Grimace Moth in a panic, then curiously and anxiously brought it back to the village. At first, the villagers thought it was just a rare strange insect, but little did they know that eerie events would soon follow one after another.
