After being fired for reporting the crime, she infiltrates the biotech firm New Era Genetics as a cleaner to gather evidence. Vera forms the “Egg Guardians” group and files a class-action lawsuit, leading to the conviction of Daniel and the firm's CEO. However, she uncovers Project Phoenix, a global ring creating genetically edited "designer babies" from smuggled eggs. With the help of lab whistleblower Clara, her lawyer daughter Lily, and teen designer-baby Emma, Vera tracks modified children worldwide, establishes a free medical network for them, and advocates for global genetic regulation. She also creates a fertility rights hotline to expose medical exploitation while mending family ties and honoring stolen biological origins.
