Late one night, Chloe, the owner of a dessert shop, is cornered by a gang of thugs. Kane, a muscular man, comes to her rescue out of nowhere. Yet despite his imposing build, he is shy as a golden retriever and mentions he knows how to make red bean soup. Mistaking him for an applicant for a dessert apprentice position, Chloe hires him on the spot. In truth, Kane is a bodyguard sent by the underworld to protect her. Clumsy as he is, he unexpectedly bakes delicious cakes. Their romance blossoms amid sweet everyday moments — constant food treats, an embrace during a power outage, and the strawberry-patterned apron. When Chloe gets kidnapped, Kane reveals his true identity and brings her back covered in blood. Far from being terrified, she asks him to teach her how to fight. After her father is attacked, the soft, sweet Chloe transforms into a female underworld boss. Together with Kane, she takes down the mastermind Vincent and restructures the gang into a chain of dessert shops. In the end, Kane advances from bodyguard to boyfriend. Side by side, they run the dessert shop and spend the rest of their lives together.
