Kai Thalassa, a young fisherman, awakens a mysterious water power when deep-sea monsters attack his village. Before his mother dies, she leaves him an ancient trident pendant and reveals that he is not an ordinary fisherman's son, but a descendant of Poseidon, the Sea God. Kai travels to the capital to uncover the truth, only to be publicly humiliated by his own uncle, Sir Corin, for his low birth. Yet during the kingdom's talent test, he unleashes level-ten water affinity and shocks the entire hall. Though the noble Lucian repeatedly schemes against him, Kai proves himself in a duel and gradually earns the respect of the knights. Captain Silas of the Tide Guard then appears, kneels before Kai, and reveals that he is the heir to the sea god—and that Poseidon is still alive, sealed away in the Abyss. Kai, Elara, and the Tide Guard set out for the Deep Sea Temple, facing storms, pirates, betrayal, and the truth of his birth as the son of Poseidon and the Sea Queen. His uncle Corin finally confesses that years of coldness were secretly meant to protect him. Kai passes the three trials of the temple, claims the Trident of Poseidon, and defeats Nereus, the Lord of the Abyss—Poseidon's brother, who fell into darkness out of jealousy. Corin sacrifices himself to save Kai, and Kai fully awakens in grief. But the true enemy, the Primordial Darkness, reveals itself. Elara awakens as the reincarnation of Amphitrite, the Sea Queen, and sacrifices herself to seal the Abyss. Five years later, Kai finds a way to bring Elara back. Together they permanently seal the Abyss, marry in a grand ceremony, and become King and Queen of both land and sea, bringing peace and reunion at last.
