Grace Winter, a celebrated young novelist in New York, sees her career shattered when her husband and editor Jonathan Gray steals her manuscripts and exploits other emerging writers for his own fame. After exposing his misconduct and facing industry backlash, she leaves for Cranberry Harbour, a quiet fishing town in Maine.With a vintage 1940s Underwood typewriter, Grace documents local lives and uncovers decades of illegal fishing, labor abuse and pollution by the powerful Blake Fishery Company. Teaming up with townspeople, a whistleblower and an investigative journalist, she fights corporate power through truthful storytelling, helps the community reclaim their livelihoods, and builds a public library for the town. Later, she mentors Sophie, Jonathan’s unknown daughter, passing on the belief that genuine writing grows from listening, not theft. The series explores justice, redemption and the quiet, enduring power of words.
