The survivors ignored the warnings, and the scorpion king slaughtered the camp. Emily and the brute Victor attacked the bunker but were instead devoured by the scorpion swarm. After Raine killed the scorpion king, the military rescue helicopter's vibrations awakened a larger mother scorpion. After a fierce battle, Raine destroyed the mother scorpion, extracted its bio-core to create an evolution serum, and foresaw that the world had already been taken over by monsters—the real hunt had just begun.
