Selena, the young lady of the Lockwood family, accidentally awakens an ancient witch, Elena, on the night before her engagement banquet. After waking, Elena possesses Selena and foretells that her fiance David is having an affair with her personal maid Ruby. Selena refuses to believe it, but at the engagement banquet she witnesses David abandon her in front of everyone and rescue Ruby instead. This makes Selena believe the prophecy, and she learns Elena's true identity: a witch sealed by the Church, sharing one life with Selena, here to help her break the curse of fate. Once awakened, Selena exposes the affair between David and Ruby, forces them to marry before everyone, then casts them out, turning them into a knight and maid endlessly humiliated and cursed. With nowhere to go, David and Ruby return to his hometown but are still scorned. Driven to a dead end, David encounters a dark power, sacrifices his own child, and becomes a Dark Knight.
