Elite lawyer Yara is renowned in her firm for her unbeaten record. While visiting her hometown, she witnesses her childhood friend Shirley being abused by her husband, Wen. Yara intervenes, and upon learning she is a lawyer, Shirley clings to her as a lifeline, begging her to help file for divorce. After her release, Yara leverages the power of the Zhao family, a wealthy elite in Binhai, to become a consultant for the Lotus Village demolition project. Now wielding influence, she turns the tables on Shirley. Consumed by greed, Shirley and her husband collude with project manager Zack to seize Yara’s family land and fraudulently claim demolition compensation, even inciting villagers to expel the family.
