Margaret revisits all six towns on the route, photographs her journey and self‑publishes the nonprofit memoir *The Runaway Stamps*. Her father sues for defamation, but Margaret submits unaltered‑diary, hospital records and the album as proof. The case is dismissed. Her story resonates with abuse survivors, and memorial plaques are placed along the escape path. Margaret returns the album to her mother’s old home, whose pomegranate tree blooms every year.
